The Colbert Report Report

In case you haven't heard (and there's plenty of reason to believe that you haven't), Stephen Colbert delivered a jaw-dropping speech at Saturday's White House Correspondents' Dinner, and the blogosphere has been all aflutter ever since.

If you've seen his performance, then you already know how brilliant it was. If you haven't, then you can find links (as well as a nifty "Thank You" forum) here. You owe it to yourself to watch the clips and make your own assessment.

I urge you to do so ASAP, as links to these clips on other sites have been disappearing fast, for some reason.

For more analysis, I find that Salon has had the best coverage of this event, and you can find links to all of said coverage here.

[Thanks to ThankYouStephenColbert.org for the photo and for keeping up with the links!]

[UPDATE: Apparently, ABC has just shown more video of Bush reacting to Colbert at the event itself. I won't link to ABC because they bug me (and many others), but Daily Kos has all of the links you could ever want, as well as some cool animated gifs.]

Sick Dick

Star Spangled Baffler

Slate's Jacob Weisberg gets us up to speed on the rediculous "debate" breaking out over the "Star Spangled Banner", and in the process steals Al Franken's "Jose', Can You See" joke.

Salon also has a take on the issue, as does the WaPo.

[EXTENDED] FAMILY FUN TIME: Young Youth

Non-Metallic music reviews are usually the domain of Mr. Biscuits, but I just listened to Neil Young's new protest record for the third consecutive time and have decided to turn it into homework.

To that end, listen to it right now by clicking here. It sounds a little choppy on the internets, I know, but you'll live...

You probably already know what Tucker thinks of it ("An arrogant, out-of-touch rich guy from Canada weighing in on American political issues he clearly doesn’t understand").

Tell me what you think of it.

I'll tell you what I think of it in a "full review" this weekend.
